Nigerian band, Plus234, drop their début single and it’s great

+234 Band

Plus234 at their recent party/concert hosted at SilverBird Galleria in Lagos, Nigeria

Nigerian Alternative rockers, Plus234 have dropped their single, finally. This song was first heard during a live performance at the +234 Party/Concert back in July. The song is particularly interesting for its use of Nigerian traditional drums (the band says conga drums). Would be interesting to see if that’s actually implemented during a performance. They describe this style as “Afro Alternative Rock” and we can’t say we disagree with them. It’s pretty dope and catchy. It does suffer from the usual production issues but I’ll leave that for our reviewers to worry about. Let’s just enjoy this great track from another Nigerian band.

We are slowly seeing more bands rise up and these are exciting times for the scene. With the fast approaching Midnight and Rocktober Fest events just round the corner, I can safely say that Nigeria is beginning to embrace rock. May more events continue to take place in the nearest future.

Back to Plus234, the band had this to say about the track:

‘Keep pushing me’ is a brilliant mix of African Instrumental sounds fused with alternative rock sounds. You can hear supporting vocals from a native chant of an African dialect merging with the main hoarse and clear rock vocals from the main Vocalist.

Ok, enough preamble, let’s get straight to the song! You know what to do. Click the LINK
