[Song Review] The Blooming (Cotard Traid II) by Nereus

This year, The Egyptian/German rising band Nereus released its first single entitled “The Blooming (Cotard Traid II)”. The band is formed in 2015 by the German musician Dani Sandvoss (Music) and the Egyptian vocalist Scot Tyler as a Black/Death Metal collaboration project. The lyrics are written by Tarek Zakaria (Ex Al Azif).

The track starts with an ambient mood then it is followed by speed extreme Black/Death music. The music carries the aggressive/hateful sounds and high-speed drums beats. The vocals are very harsh and brutal. From 1:10 to 1:49, there is another slower movement one but it is strong. Another movement has a different atmosphere and it is colored with progressive taste is the one from 2:28 to 3:31; this movement also opens the way to a long melodic tunes in the track. In 4:14 till the end of the track, the track turns to be more brutal in style and vocals.

Well, if you are a big fan of extreme music and brutal style, you have an Egyptian/German piece to listen to it. I should mention that Nereus managed to spread its music in Africa as they were listed in African Metal Charts. The track is well composed, it has the classic blackened style of Black Metal and Death Metal touches, but sometimes I felt that the vocals lower than the music. In this regard…

Final Rating:  3.5/5.
