Firstly, a Happy New Year to Everyone on here. We like to think we have come a really long way here at AudioInferno. Contrary to popular beliefs we are all kids here having a blast with music from great African bands. Somewhere along the line we decided to make turn a hobby into AudioInferno and here we are. I admit, I was against this but I have been proven wrong, rightly so (I had a gun to my head while typing this here.) We’ve had amazing people join up with us a in the past few months (hey guys, waving here) and these people have gone about their business seamlessly. But there’s more see. A lot more coming your way. So, here are the thing we will be bring to you full on, next year. Some we have already started implementing and we hope you have all noticed too.
YOU WANT VIDEOS? AudioInferno says ‘HOLD MY BEER’
We prayed for this for ages and ages. We had a couple of videos on our YouTube page but we were never satisfied with it at all. So we waited and finally we hit the right moment. Yours truly will handle the narration and yes, I may or may not like the sound of my voice. We want to start off with a video every week. Then we will graduate to one every day (Lord help us.) So if you aren’t in the know, subscribe to our YouTube channel (HERE) and be sure to hit the notification button so you KNOW when we have a video ready.
A NEWSLETTER WITH PERKS AND BUFFS
Who likes mails? Me neither. But really though. We want our mails to be a bit different. Firstly, Our newsletter mails will be completely revamped. I mean, we are throwing the old thing into the damn bin. We actually hate getting our own mails too. Had to do a redo. So we did. We created a new newsletter with perks. Here are some of the perks I’m talking about:
- Signing on to the mail gives you first access to anything we will be selling on the site in the near future. From band merchandise all the way to tickets to festivals or rock gigs. You know what that means? DISCOUNTS!
- Signing on to the mail also gives you access, free or paid, to albums before they are leased (heavily dependent on the bands permission)
- Event Reminders (first dibbs)
But the best part about this, sorry, we won’t spoil. But it is huge, I can promise you that, game changing even.
FACEBOOK GROUP (FORUM) FOR THE ANGR… Err WE MEAN THE GREAT DEBATERS
I have always loved the idea of forums fused into websites. I played with the idea in the past but it never worked like I wanted it to. So, Facebook heard my prayers (I think) and gave me the ‘fuse a group with your page option.‘ SO, we created a forum (which as of the time of this post here is currently in the beta phase, we are testing it out) and it works well. We want a hub here bands can link into and listen to the fans talk. Say for instance we do a review of an album, we want to give fans the chance to go nuts on the album then talk about it in the group (forum) then invite the bands in so they know exactly what the fans think. Basically creating a level of intimacy between the bands and fans.
ARMA MAKING A RETURN TOO
ARMA (African Rock Music Award) was a test. We wanted to prove African rock bands we’re up to the task and they didn’t disappoint! We did ARMA then without basic guidelines but this time we wanted it better so we sort help from our good friends and they put us through. I can tell you now we have an amazing template to us for the next award and we promise it will be bigger and better and more transparent. Everyone one will be carried along. All bands of all genres, sub-genres, fusion genres too. You all won’t be left out. This will be a lot bigger than most.
A DAY WITH THE BAND. WANT TO KNOW HOW BAND MEMBERS LIVE, PLAY AND PRACTICE? SURE YOU DO.
Community has been the main focus of AudioInferno for a while now and we use our social media account to help push that. So we were thinking, what if we gave bands the chance to do their their way with our account, and we all through FACEBOOK. The idea is simple, a band takes over our FACEBOOK account and they record their day doing typical band stuff. While people watch it LIVE we record and save it then we turn it into a video. It’s a great chance to get really close to bands and we know you’ll love what we are coming up with here.
THE RETURN OF THE ANGRY PODCASTER
I’ve had a whole lot of people ask me why we had to cancel the podcast. I’ve never given a real reason for this here (probably never will too) but you can bet we’ll be bringing this back again, bigger and better than before. We are a whole lot different from last year and we have the time to prove that to you.
Writing this here excites me, I can’t reveal a lot as per request from the guys. But we are doing a ton just to bridge the gap between the fans and the bands. We don’t have the time to pat ourselves on the back, we just want the music and that’s fine with us. Remember folks, support your local bands /,,/
